christmas trees

No - none in this house yet - we get a real tree and that means waiting a few weeks. I really love a real tree but secretly wish we could find a fake tree that's large enough. Has anyone seen a tree that's 9.5 or 10 feet that's not outrageously priced - let me know.

But I'm trying to get in the spirit here so I made the postcard for today using a Hero Arts stamp, some versamark and chalk.

Do you have Sam's Wholesale clubs? We saw one under $500, it was a good looking one. My family always bought a real tree. We would drive to Noel, MO and go to the tree farm to find our perfect tree. Then we'd cut it down and drag it home. We always listened to the Jim Neighbors Christmas album and had a great tiem decorating our tree and house. Mom took pictures off the wall to replace with Christmas pictures. Nick Nacks removed for the Christmas Nick Nacks. It all kind of slowed down after we moved on account my Dad put the "trash" lid on the Christmas barrel and the "Christmas" lid on the trash barrel. Not such a good year for Dad when Mom opened trash and not decorations!

Love the pc! Those trees are so sweet and happy...

We bought our pre-lit Martha Stewart tree when KMart had them on sale (3 years ago). Not sure if Martha makes them that tall, but I love pulling it out of the closet and plugging it in. Of course, i miss the pine fragrance, but right now I'm all about efficiency and convenience.

Forgot to say on the other post that soon I will actually be able to use that Christmas music link!!! Can you believe it??
I love this card with the chalk resist technique. I love that technique. It's fun. It hurts my back....the rubbing. Odd, isn't it??
Huge fake trees are EXPENSIVE. Do you ever look after Christmas??

I was going to say Sam's club too- they had a couple large trees that were very nice. I think one was 9 or 9.5 feet and the other was 12. My Christmas crazed BIL has gotten huge trees at tiny prices at lowes and home depot after Christmas. I'd definately hit the sales and hunt for a fake tree. I've always had fakes, and I love them because I like to have the tree up for as long as DH will let me. I threaten to keep it up until my birthday in February! ;)

i LOVE this card!!! like, it might even be my new VERY FAVORITE! the soft coloring...& the sweet little trees...mmmmmmmm!

(ps: re trees i was going to say wholesale club or lowe's; k-mart's martha stuff the last few years HAS also been quite fab and reasonably priced, but i don't think they had any XL trees?)
