EDM#30 - draw a chair or anything else you feel like

i was a little antsy the other night while watching television. (More often then not i take up my sketchbook and pen/pencil and start doodling or drawing while 'watching'.) The television is in the family room in which there are three places to sit - the couch, a love seat and this - which is slightly smaller than a loveseat - so i guess you can call it a chair. So here's my chair. It's a rather soft cushy chair - that little item at the corner of the pillow is one of my cats toys. That toy finds itself all about the house - usually wherever i am (i think they believe its like a dead mouse - they present it to me quite often as a gift - you cat owners will know what i'm talking about). Anyway I think the drawing looks better IRL - holding my sketchbook at arms length. however you can't exactly hold your computer screen away at arms length now can you (unless you've got a laptop i spose)
I should mention that i wasn't sure i was done with this - i kept on holding it away - looking - adding more - then finally decided i better stop.
Oh yes - before i forget i wanted to say thank you for all the kind words on my previous post. it means a lot - the positive feedback is so very encouraging and i appreciate your taking the time to say it.
ok.. hoping to post some of the ATC's and cards i've made recently later today or tomorrow. have a good one.

that is the coziest looking chair (chair-and-a-half?)! Your work has such a wonderful, nostalgic feeling about it :-)

You are amazing. I want to jump in that chair! I wish you could have seen me as I read your blog entry...when you wrote "at arm's length" I scooted my chair away from the screen and back to get a view from a small distance. Another great job. You are good at that cross hatching!

Great drawing and journalling. I remember when we redecorated they called it "a chair and a half" - We got one that actually folds out to a twin size sleeper sofa. You really showed how comfy they are!

I could sit in that chair for the rest of my life. I'm having trouble putting my finger on whether I'm jealous or envious of your talent which comes so naturally. Maybe I'll just put a finger on each because I feel both. Just lovely. It makes me feel so...so...untalented. Mildred, this is your chance to say, "William, you are absolutly untalented!" I've left it wide open.

You've definitely made that chair one we'd like to sit in! How comfy! Can't wait to see more of your work!

That chair is just asking to be cuddled in...I love it!! Just curious--can you draw from a photograph--say, turn a photo of a person into a sketch drawing?? Kerilou

Most excellent cross hatching my dear! The drawing is really great, but you really have a knack for the cross-hatching. I laughed at your other post, I get too bored with it and it gets sloppy too. I get the "mouse thing" too, LOL. We have some and they do end up in odd places.

Your wonderful sketch (cross-hatching coming along nicely!) reminds me of a song:
All I want is a room somewhere
far away from the cold night air -
with one ENORMOUS chair
oh wouldn't it be luvverly??

Yes, if this were the chair, I think it WOULD be luvverly! :)

See how behind I am?? This is positively awesome. Amazing really. I'm sure Will won't ever see this, but he is one of the most talented people I know.

What a great drawing! That's a lot of work to do all that crosshatching! Thanks for visiting my blog and for your comments. the desk calendar project is on hold for a bit. I did those at work and have gotten in trouble for them! Plus I am trying to come up with some new themes. i will also try to move to watercolor paper to make it easier and to get a better look. thanks again!
